Post & Beam

Our designer is a graduate of Shelter Institute in Maine, which provides post & beams frames custom made for our designs. The frames require "bents" (frames) to be made usually in 12 foot increments. We use these frames selectively in the living room space. This offers a dramatic use of posts to naturally divide living space without the use of standard walls.
Creative use of joinery make new homes have an old world charm...The joints are timeless and are secured with oak pegs - no nails or screws!... mortice and tenon joints are an alternative to steel plates.
